Freelance healthcare professionals often enjoy flexible working hours, but behind this lies a significant risk of burnout. The absence of a fixed schedule and unpredictable workloads can lead to physical and mental exhaustion. They frequently work longer hours than full-time medical staff due to the pressure of continuously seeking patients or assignments.

The lack of social security and emotional support further exacerbates their vulnerability to stress. Many freelance healthcare workers feel they must always be available, making it difficult for them to take adequate rest.

To address this issue, clearer regulations regarding working hours and well-being for freelance medical professionals are necessary. Additionally, healthcare providers should take greater responsibility for their workforce’s well-being by offering access to psychological support and support communities.
