The Bad Impact of Sitting Too Long: Simple Movement Solutions at Your Desk

In the modern work era, sitting too long in front of a computer has become part of our daily routine. However, this habit has a bad impact on our health. Sitting for long periods of time can cause various health problems, such as back pain, muscle stiffness, and an increased risk of heart disease. Fortunately, there is a solution in the form of simple movements that you can do at your desk.

One of the bad impacts of sitting too long is poor posture. When you sit in a hunched or unergonomic position, your back and neck will feel tense. To prevent this, make sure to sit with your back straight, your shoulders relaxed, and your feet flat on the floor. If possible, adjust your chair and table to be more ergonomic.

Next, it is important to move around often even when you are at your desk. Try to stand up and move every 30 minutes. You can do light stretching movements such as stretching your arms up, rotating your neck, or even walking around the room for a while. This movement helps improve blood circulation and reduces muscle tension.

Simple exercises such as sit-to-stand can also be done at your desk. Standing up from a chair without using your hands as support, then sitting back down, helps strengthen the muscles of your legs and lower back. Do this exercise 10 times every few hours to keep your muscles active.

By implementing this simple movement, you can reduce the negative effects of sitting too long, maintain your body's health, and stay productive throughout the day.
